This small, undated, pro-Confederate sheet measures 4.65” x 3.1” and features a few rebellious motifs.
Red text across the top unmistakably reads “TRUTH IS MIGHTY” and further down matches the theme with a bold “THE SOUTH TO THE RESCUE”. Between those two lines is a southern shield with a vignette portrait of Jefferson Davis. Near the bottom is a familiar “SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS” seal.
The lower and upper left corners are damaged and a small section of the outer layer of paper near the word “RESCUE” is missing as shown – likely a victim of some type of adhesive. Two, small tears at the top are visible and roughly equidistant from each edge.
Overall, a unique piece of Confederate history that would display well. [cm] [ph:L]
