A Virginia Confederate patriotic album card in red, white and blue, featuring a prominent panoply of eleven-star Confederate First National Flags flanking a CS shield with a pole rising behind with a red, white and blue Liberty Cap on top and a shield shaped banner with the Virginia state seal in red, white and blue positioned so as to rest on the CS shield and be flanked by the flags. The state motto is prominent at top in red, “THUS WILL IT EVER BE WITH TYRANTS,” and with “VIRGINIA THE MIGHTY.” below that, also in red, with the state seal repeated at bottom in blue.

There is no missing the Confederate sentiments and state association! This measures 3” x 4-1/2” and was likely marketed as a novelty patriotic expression that would find a place in a family album or scrapbook, a favorite Victorian pastime, if not more prominent display.  [sr][ph:L]
