Signed, framed etching, 11 x 14.5”, with beige matte, in black wooden frame, 16/25 x 20.375”, with card backing and hang-wire. Artist signature - Pierre “Nuytens ’39” - in lower right corner. Upper left corner, in printed cursive script: “Abraham Lincoln Life Insurance Co.”. Matte exhibit slight yellowing round the margins. Else VG, and attractive, exuding considerable gravitas.
Pierre Nuytens was an noted artist from Belgium, whose earlier work included etchings of Theodore Roosevelt and other notables. This piece was commissioned for the Lincoln National insurance company and signed copies were available only to those connected with it.
