Hollow brass decorative plaque of a mounted McClellan looking officer or cavalry trooper. The item meas. approx. 9.50 inches wide by 9.50 inches tall.
The rider wears a frock coat and knee-high boots with spurs. One hand holds the reins of the horse while the other is by his side holding his forage cap. Beneath the saddle is a blanket and the saddle itself has skirts and stirrups. Just forward of the figure are saddle holsters.
The horse has detail to his face and tail as well as the legs while the rest of the body is smooth brass.
Brass surface has a light patina.
Reverse has two protruding studs.
There is no visible maker’s mark. [AD] [ph:L]
