A vintage color lithograph print depicting a portrait of Abraham Lincoln. Reproduced from original canvas by A. L. Conant in the T. B. Walker collection. In 1860, Conant received a commission from William McPherson, a St. Louis railroad executive, to paint a portrait of Abraham Lincoln during his presidential candidacy. Conant traveled to Springfield, Illinois, to paint him.
This lithograph is housed in a gold gilt frame with black enamel decorated border. Original wavy glass with a small “BB” sized hole/crack in the surface. Original paper backed material intact on the rear of the frame. Outside dimensions of the frame are 21” by 24” and 3 ½” deep. The lithograph has a few brown staining spots. [stp] [ph:L]
