A handsome and finely executed hand-colored lithograph depicting a mounted officer of the Horse Artillery of the French Royal Guard — an elite unit of the Bourbon Restoration period (c. 1815–1830). The officer is shown astride a spirited black horse in a proud parade posture, dressed in the distinctive scarlet and black uniform with tall bearskin shako, gold epaulettes, and white crossbelt. In the background, artillerists man a cannon while cavalry and troops maneuver across a battle-smoke horizon — conveying both the grandeur and martial power of the Royal Guard.

The hand-applied coloring is vivid and detailed, with the regiment's striking red, black, and gold palette rendered with care. The calligraphic title inscription below in elegant period script adds to the decorative appeal of this piece.

A wonderful decorative and historically significant print from the Napoleonic/Restoration era, appealing equally to collectors of French military history and decorative arts.

Presented in a bird's-eye maple-finish wood frame.

Provenance: Ex Ron Tunison collection.

Condition: Good. Age toning to paper consistent with period; colors remain strong; minor foxing.

Frame Dimensions: 12.75" x 15.25"      [ss] [ph:L]
