Standard pre-printed "To Whom It May Concern" document, 8.5" x 10.5" Dated 9/8/64, issued on expiration of enlistment for a 60 day term of service Captain Llewellyn J. Morse’s company of the Maine State Militia. Exhibits fold-marks. Morris is listed as 38 years of age, 5’7” tall, with dark complexion, blue eyes and dark hair, and was a joiner by occupation.
Morris was a resident of Leeds, ME when he enlisted on 8/10/61 as a Musician. On that date he mustered into the band of the 2nd Maine Infantry. Mustered out on 8/15/62. He re-enlisted in the Maine State Militia as a Musician on 7/7/64, mustered out on 9/8/64. He again re-enlisted, this time as a Musician in Co. I, 14th Maine Infantry on 3/23/65.
