Dated “Richmond 4th September 1860.” Cover address: ”WRW Cameron / New York. Addressed to “WRW Cameron Dear Sir” One page in ink on light-blue lined stationery, 7.5” x 10.  Exhibits fold-marks, and extremely crabbed handwriting,  difficult to decipher.

This letter pertains to ships and shipping and business orders and correspondence dealing with Sydney Australia. Partial text:

“Your valued letter of the 1st inst. Including letter of your correspondence concerning the order of the Flour for schooner “Mythic” came duly to hand and has our attention. Under the circumstances you were compelled to act as you did, yet we regret that you could not have ___ the question whether where the Master of a ____”

And from here on the handwriting, obviously done in haste, become extremely difficult. The letter concludes: “The compendium is open to your perusal. We will reply to Mr. N. Town’s peculiar letter by Steamer. When to you look for letters from Australia. We remain Yours Truly, Dunlop  Moncure.”

Invites further research. In protective sleeve. [JP]  [ph:L]
