In this letter from the Surgeon General’s Office, Henry Smith addresses a number of inquiries to Dr. Roher. Text as follows:
“…Please tell me all that you have rec’d—all that you want & if the U. States have furnished or will furnish anything—did a large tin filter for water reach you—State how goods are to be directed to reach you—who will receive them and acknowledge their arrival. their arrival. –State if you know the whereabouts of the other Reserve Regiments & tell their surgeons to write me of their wants and oblige/ Henry H. smith / address me promptly to Coverly’s Hotel, Harrisburg.”
