This letter concerns property accounts and invoices for the years 1861-2-3. Text as follows:
“By the day’s mail I send you triplicate copies of your property accounts made for the years 1861-2-3 & 4 for signature. I also enclose you invoices for the property issued by you to Regimental Medical officers to these your affidavit will be required, as many unexpendable articles are contained in each invoice. You can certify that the property was issued in pursuance to an order issued by Surg. Jonth Letterman Medical Director, dated in Sept. 1862 and that such issues were absolutely necessary. Your accounts in every other respect are correct and in my opinion there will be no difficulty in their final adjustment. You can transmit them officially to the office.
These copies marked “Triplicate” you retain, as only duplicate copies are required by the S.G.O.
General certificate of Lt. J.B. Dayton for property issued him in 1864. I also enclose two affidavits. Incomplete….Signed B. Rohrer & E.S.M.Clery / U.S.A.”
