This letter concerns Surgeon Benjamin Rohrer and his failure to report to his regiment without delay upon being released from hospital duty in Gettysburg.

Text: “Colonel…I have the honor to report the following named officers, for the offences set opposite their names respectively, and to recommend that they be ordered to show cause before a Military Commission for remaining absent without leave.

Surgeon Benjamin Rohrer 10th P.R.C., order from Surgeon H. James in charge Hospitals about Gettsburg PA, date August 1st 1863, ordering him to report to his Regiment without delay. Reported for pass to join his Regiment August 10th.
