The order is a directive to the Brigade and Divisional commanders concerning vaccinations. Text:
“The Regimental Surgeons of this division will report each case of eruptive disease coming under their notice without delay to the Brigade Surgeon who will forthwith report the same to Division Headquarters.
All officers of this Division will require their private servants white or colored to report to the Surgeon of their Regiment or Brigade for vaccination or revaccination if necessary. Quartermasters, Commissaries of Subsistence and other officers having citizens or soldiers in their employment, will require them to be vaccinated or re-vaccinated by the surgeon if he considers it necessary / By order of Brig. Gen. McCall.”
