Front cover features full page depiction of an Angel of Peace walking among returning veterans.  Interior illustrations include a full page depiction of “Ruins in the Heart of Charleston—View From King Street”. Also sketches of “Paroled Rebel Prisoners at the Battery”, and an “Exterior View of the Cells in Which the [Lincoln} Conspirators are Confined in the Old Penitentiary at Washington.” [The Conspirators were hung July 8th, date of this issue.]
