This Union occupation newsletter was published by the 6th U.S. Army Corps, on the press of the Danville Register.

6th Corps Greek Cross, upper left margin. Front page contains a hilarious poem—“An Ode to the “A.D.C.s” / Respectfully Dedicated to the Untutored Savage.” Also an “Executive Order to Re-
Establish the Authority of the United States…within the Geographical Limits known as the state of Virginia.” Also “General Orders for the Appointment of Justices of the Peace for Danville.” Reverse page has stories concerning “The News of the Assassination of President Lincoln in England”—“The Disposition of Rebel Prisoners of War”—“Jeff Davis and His Cabinet Cornered in Georgia”—“The Evidence Against Davis.”
