“City Intelligence” includes the following humorous items: “Larceny—Ed. Lynch was this morning committed to First District Court for having stolen a pair of pantaloons value at $4. If Ed Lynch had only learned to work like a man he would not want to steal nor would he now be imprisoned as a thief”---"A Duo of Dangerous—John Ryan and James Dobson were arraigned here before the First Recorder’s Court as a couple of dangerous personages, who if permitted to run at large, would commit some depredations. Their cases were fixed for the 8th on $500 bonds.”

Want Ads provide a glimpse into the drugs and medicines offered for sale in Civil War America. Along with slave auctions and an announcement of an exhibition of the Billiard Art  at the Masonic Hall by Mr. Berger of New York City”.

Solid New Orleans collectible, providing a fascinating snapshot of the city’s mood and activities  of the city’s on the eve of war. [In protective sleeve.  [jp] [ph:L]
