Beautifully framed and matted in a modern 20” x 15” gold frame, with rich dark blue matting.
At top right is a 4 ¾” x 2 ½” lined, pre-printed card filled in ink: “Autograph of / Geo. G. Meade / Maj. Genl. / U. S. Army / Date, Mar. 30,/69.” Meade signed this card two weeks after he was transferred to his command at the Military Division of the Atlantic, headquartered at Philadelphia.
Below the autograph card is a 6”x4” placard with gold lettering which includes the details given above regarding this autograph, as well as a very brief synopsis of Meade’s Civil War military career.
Included at right is a 5 ½” x 7 ½” modern copy of a common Civil War era photograph of Meade. Attached on the reverse of the frame is a Certificate of Authenticity provided by another dealer. [ld][ph:L]
