Triangular “Brown Bess” bayonet that meas. approx. 16.25 in overall length. The surfaces of the iron are dark throughout.
Socket meas. approx. 4.00 inches long while the blade is approx. 11.75 inches. Surfaces are clean except for some minor spots of oxidation.
The blade flat is stamped with a mark that looks like a foot while the socket has numerous carvings on it. Most are non-sensical but one is in the shape of a heart with an “X” at center. Around the heart in the quadrants of the “X” are a letter “J” on its side and then “V” and “I.” [ad] [ph:L]
