This is the bayonet for the “Third Model” Brown Bess. Also known as the India Pattern which was the standard British infantry musket from 1797 to 1854.
Bayonet measures approximately 19.75” overall with a 4” socket. What appears to be a worn “8” is stamped on the blade flat. Shows light wear. Brown-gray color with light surface rust. A nice early bayonet. [jet] [ph:L]
