The Model 1855 socket bayonet is in clean and very fine condition. It is a bright overall. Locking ring rotates freely. Worn “US” stamp on the blade flat.
Leather scabbard is in equally fine condition. The black bridle leather body shows only light wear and no weak spots. Brass tip remains firmly attached. Scabbard frog is the seven-rivet variety. Frog shows bold stamps: “R. NECE / PHILAD” and an oval sub-inspector’s stamp.
