The overall length of the bayonet is 26.25 inches. The double-edged blade is waspwaisted and is diamond shaped in cross section. The blade surface is semi-bright with moderate mottling and minor scattered pitting with some discoloration by oxidation. There is no fuller. Edges have several nicks. Obverse ricasso is unmarked.
The heavy cast brass hilt has no muzzle ring or locking ring. The grip itself is cast with an eagle feather motif with a plain pommel. The pommel is cut with a short notch. The base of the grip has a short guard that ends with two round quillons. One quillon is stamped with the inspector’s mark “R.C.” Faint marking on the side of the brass pommel: “14”.
There is no scabbard.
