The blade meas. approx. 16.00 inches long with a 12.25 inch unstopped fuller. Blade surface is bright and clean with a few small areas of minor light pinprick surface pitting. True edge has no nicks. Some of the previously mentioned pitting is close to the edge, but when the finger is run over the blade, no nicks are felt. One side of the ricasso is marked with “S. A.” over a bursting bomb and “1910” while the opposite ricasso has “US” over “473986.” All markings are strong. Hilt has a nice wood grip with an iron bird head pommel and guard with ”O” ring.
Scabbard is covered in khaki canvas with a brown leather tip. Bayonet fits the scabbard perfectly and locks in place. Canvas is in very nice condition with a bright clear appearance despite some minor dirt near the throat. Top back of scabbard has two iron hooks for attaching to the web belt. [ad][ph:L]
