The drawn cutlass meas. approx. 32.25 inches from point to pommel. The blade itself 26.50 inches long. It has a bright flat surface that becomes diamond shaped about 8.50 inches back from the point and ends with a spear shaped point. Surface is clean and free of any pitting. The guard itself is made of iron and sweeps out into a wide basket that narrows toward the pommel. The exterior of the guard is finished bright while the inside is painted with black lacquer. The exterior of the guard has a heavily mottled appearance while the lacquer on the inside is near perfect.
The grip has the usual English checkered leather grips held by rivets while the top of the grip has a mortis and locking mechanism for a bayonet lug.
Leather scabbard is in nice condition with a plain iron throat with frog stud and an iron finial. The leather itself is in nice shape with light surface crazing but very little surface finish loss. The rear seam is tight.
