Bayonet has a light brown oiled finish with a working locking ring and a strong “U.S.” on the blade flat.
Metal scabbard has all its original finish and is free of dents.
Leather yoke is excellent and shows only some light surface wear. Stitching is tight. Leather belt loop is attached to the frog by a brass rosette bearing the letters “NJ” for New Jersey. Loop is lightly stamped “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL” with inspector’s initials on reverse. Loop has brass hooks for attaching to a Mills belt. [ad] [ph:L]
