This British-made accoutrement is an original saber bayonet made for the Enfield .577 caliber rifle musket.
The bayonet, with its Yataghan-style blade measures 28” long with a 23” blade and has a 15” fuller on each side. Blade has no markings. Blade bears a good semi-bright finish with scattered darker spotting overall. Grips are checkered black leather in good condition with no cracks or chips.
The black, flat bodied leather scabbard is mounted with original iron throat clasp and tip. Leather body is in very good condition. Stitching strong and unbroken. Scabbard has one weak area near the iron tip.
