This is a Model 1842 socket bayonet for .69 caliber muskets. Clean and smooth surface with mostly gun metal gray color. A few areas of very fine corrosion. Tapered triangular blade and socket measure approximately 20.5” overall with a 2 5/8" socket. Good “US" marking on flat of blade with the bottom of the “S” weak. Complete with locking ring.
