[See THE BAYONET BOOK, Watts & White, p. 366, no. 744]. Standard socket bayonet, with bright triangular blade, with locking ring, measuring 17” in length, .75 in width at base. Ricasso marking: “_/12”. Blade exhibits patches of pitting, as does socket. Else VG, with solid locking ring. Accompanied by smooth fitting black leather scabbard, with brass throat, drag, and frog stud with numeral “14” marking. Scabbard leather very fine with excellent stitching. Brass fittings display light coppery patina with light dings & scratching. The frog belt loop leather is VG+ with excellent stitching. Not often do we see P53 Enfield bayonet/scabbard/belt loop combinations as handsome and solid as this one.
