A great looking Confederate fighting knife that is similar to some seen in the Bowie Knife book by Melton, Phillips and Sexton. Overall length is 17”, blade length is 11 ½”. It is hand forged with a classic Confederate look, and is heavy with excellent balance. It has a wide, hand forged spear point blade with a beautiful patina. There is an original one piece oval wooden handled and it is peened with a hand forged square iron washer.
The knife and all parts are tight and solid. This knife has a fantastic look and displays very well.
It is getting increasingly harder to find authentic, well made, Confederate knifes these days, and this one would complement any Bowie/fighting knife collection. [da] [ph:L]
