A nice Bowie-style knife with clipped point blade, 12.25” overall with 7.25” blade. German silver handle and oval guard.
Hollow, two-piece handle with scrolling foliate designs shows some dents and use. The blade has smooth metal with several noticeable nicks in the edge. Otherwise, the blade is nice. The ricasso has no maker’s stamp but has a large “U [star] S” on one side.
This comes with its brown leatherette-covered pasteboard and gilt blind-stamped scabbard in fair condition. Tip is missing and German silver throat is missing its stud. The scabbard also has a “U [star] S” on one side.
A nice mid-19th century knife. [jet] [ph:L]
