The remainder of the blade is bright with just a few dark speckles. The sword has the classic intricate brass hilt of the Garde de Bataille with the original, untouched tang peen. The wire wrapped grip is in very fine original condition. The scabbard is of leather, with 3 brass mounts. It is in fine+ condition, with only some minor dings.
