A Javanese Kris showing a wider blade with fewer curves than some, gray in color, but showing very clearly an attractive watery pattern to the steel. The blade is deeply worked across the broad base. The narrow neck linking the blade to the grip has a brass band and is decoratively worked. The grip is cream colored with reddish brown lines and cracks as shown. The 11 ½” long blade is smooth metal generally, but has some roughness to the edge near the point. Probably nineteenth century with the width showing some thought as a cutting weapon. No scabbard. Please see our photos.  [sr][ph:L]
