This is what was termed the “paper envelope” cartridge. Used in Colt, Remington, and any other .36 caliber percussion revolver of the Civil War. Constructed using a typical “new model” lead bullet with a plain, untreated paper cartridge case attached. Manufactured at Colt Cartridge Works.
