This is a single revolver cartridge manufactured by Eley Brothers in London. These cartridges are made of mutton’s intestine and wrapped with thread for strength. They can be loaded in any “Navy” caliber revolver. The outer, white paper envelope was intended to protect the cartridge from being broken or damaged during transport. The brown cloth tear-strip was for easy opening to expose the cartridge. An orange label on the bottom reads “Eley / London”. Good, solid condition. [jet] [ph:m]
