POCKET PISTOL FLASK

$275.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 286-1114

A very pretty powder flask for a pocket-size pistol that would look well in a nice cased set or among other examples showing variations in motifs and the art of die-sinking. This is in very good condition with good seams on the copper body that has an even light tone showing just a few brown age spots. The thumb-piece, spout and spring are in place. The spring shows substantial blue. The collar has just some light handing marks, a few brown age spots on the sides, a darkening on the top next to the spring and spout.

Both sides show an American eagle with US shield on its chest, sitting on a perch and clutching arrows and olive branch. The is surrounded by C-scrolls extending into floral sprays at top and bordered with curling leaves along the bottom, with one side very crisp in detail and the other slightly rubbed.  Overall measures 4 ¼” x 2”.  [sr] [ph:L]
