Regulation tan paper cartridge for the U.S. .58 caliber rifled musket. This is the typical "minie ball" cartridge of the American Civil War.
Known as the "regulation" or "American military" style of cartridge, i.e., powder charge and bullet wrapped completely in paper, tied with string over the nose of the bullet, with the powder end being closed with folds to form a tail.
Cartridge paper is slightly dirty, otherwise in good condition with no cracks, tears, or repairs. [jet] [ph:L]
