Very rare iron, two cavity bullet mold for the .31 caliber "Wells Fargo" Colt revolver. It casts one round ball and one elongated bullet. There is no sprue cutter. Marked "COLT'S / PATENT" across the top of the two halves near the hinge pin. Cavities remain clean and crisp. There are a very few small dings on exterior where the mold needed to be "tapped" to get the bullets out. Believed to have been made circa 1853. Excellent condition overall. [jet] [ph:L]
