This is what was termed the “paper envelope” cartridge. Used in Colt, Remington, and any other .44 caliber “Army size” percussion revolver of the Civil War.
Constructed using a typical “new model” type short, lead bullet with a plain, untreated paper cartridge case attached. Made at Colt Cartridge Works.
In excellent condition with no damage. The perfect accompaniment to any “Army” caliber percussion revolver display.
