This is an original .69 caliber Buck & Ball cartridge. Composed of a .69 caliber round ball with three .31 caliber buckshot on top. Wrapped in cartridge paper and tied with string between each portion. The cartridge features the regulation folded tail on the bottom.
There is an old repair at the bottom on one side. The remainder of the cartridge is in fine condition and will display nicely.
A round that was used in smoothbore muskets by both sides throughout the entire war. [jet] [ph:L]
