Josiah Miller and Nathaniel Miller were both mold makers. The family lived in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

This brass four-cavity bullet mold casts lead musket balls measuring .685”, .650”, .600”, and .530”. The mold measures approximately 5” long, there are no wood handles remaining. The mold is in fine condition with only the usual dings and scratches on the sides from trying the knock the cast balls out of the mold. A worn “NM” is visible on the left side.

The Millers are known to have worked in the 1760s through 1780s. The mold is in fine condition. This is a rare colonial item worthy to be in any collection of Revolutionary War Period Items.  [jet] [ph:L]
