Offered here is a fine display of fifteen bullets used in the Civil War, used by Southern soldiers, some rare, all labeled and properly displayed in a matted Riker case.

Bullets are of many different patterns from various Southern sources. There are specimens for Sharps and Merrill carbines, as well as for .54/.55 caliber Mississippi and Austrian Lorenz rifles, .577 caliber English rifle muskets, .58 caliber American rifle muskets, and .69 caliber rifled muskets and smoothbore muskets. The specimens included here were produced in armories and arsenals in Richmond, Charleston, Raleigh, Macon, and imported through the blockade from England.

Some of the rarer specimens here are the “New Austrian” from Raleigh, the large .69 caliber Gadner from Richmond, the Gardner “blow through”, and the Merrill and Lehner & White bullets from Richmond. A detailed description of the specimens is pasted to the back of the case.

A ready-made Confederate bullet collection.  [jet] [ph:jet]
