This is a self-contained and primed copper cartridge with flat-nosed lead bullet. The copper case has been cleaned.
These were centerfire cartridges where the primer was held internally, seated on an “anvil” in the base of the cartridge. Manufactured by Charles Fusnot and Company. The Perrin revolver and its unique cartridges were patented in England by William E. Newton for Messrs. Perrin and Delmas of Paris on October 5, 1859.
The Model 1859 Perrin revolver was a French designed, self-contained, cartridge revolver with a double action lock and a six-shot cylinder. [jet][ph:L]
