These blackened iron take-down tools combine two screwdriver blades, all that is required to disassemble a Spencer rifle or carbine. They were supplied with the guns as part of the army and navy contracts and would be carried in the implement pocket on the front face of the cartridge box.
Condition is excellent. One blade piece is riveted to the other and swings freely. Measures 3.575” long.
This is scarce, original Civil War Spencer tool that would complement either a Spencer rifle or carbine. [jet][ph:L]
