A pleasing example of an Adams County horn with mellow colors gently blending together and simple turning to the spout and base plug, with both carrying staples in place. The horn shades gradually from brown to cream at the base with the mid-section showing a warm orange-brown. The bottom of the horn is turned with two narrow lines that are mirrored in the lower edge of the horn body just above. The base plug is otherwise a simple dome with a relatively flat band around the dimple with staple, the band showing some wear and a couple of small chips. The spout is short and simply turned with one raised band and pairs of incised lines above and below. The tip of the spout has some short hairlines, but no chips. The iron staple is present at the neck, showing some corrosion. The body of the horn has some minor rubs, scratches and light dings- nothing unexpected or detracting from the color. 9-1/2 inches overall. Please see our photos. [sr][ph:m]
