This is a fine example of a European musket tool, being a two-piece appendage; a ball screw to extract lead bullets from the gun barrel and a wiper to clean the barrel with a rag. This would be used by screwing it onto the threaded end of the ramrod.

This combination tool is made up of a traditional shaped wiper (.545” dia. X 1.555” long), that screws onto an interesting shaped ball screw. This portion is a 2.89” long tapered screw with a 0.510” brass bead at its center. The screw post is threaded twice: just above the brass bead where the wiper screws on, and at the tip to act as the bullet screw. The shaft is stamped with a gothic “B” under a crown and a “7”.
