$1,195.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 340-02

Presented here is a classic Colt cap and ball revolver commonly referred to as the 1849 Pocket Model. This personal sidearm, in very good original condition overall, features a 5” long, octagonal barrel matched to a .31 caliber, six-shot cylinder that has a roll pressed design retaining nearly complete “stagecoach holdup” scene. Original nipples. Safety pins are mostly hammered down. All serial numbers (#281968) match, including wedge. Number indicates an early 1866 date of manufacture. Worn stamp of “ADDRESS COL SAML COLT / NEW-YORK US AMERICA” is on the top facet of the barrel. The standard “COLTS / PATENT” is stamped on the left side of the frame. “31 CAL” is stamped on the left side of the brass trigger guard.

Gun metal is light gray with scattered patches of darker oxidation. Revolver is mechanically strong with good action. Grips are of varnished, one-piece, walnut in good condition with expected wear. Very slight separation between top of grip and frame. Back strap and the trigger guard are brass with no silver wash remaining.

Here is a solid example of this Colt firearm with 5” barrel.  [jet] [ph:L]
