Lefaucheux pin-fire revolver in fair condition. Handgun was designed and produced by the highly acclaimed inventor of European firearms, Eugene Lefaucheux. Referred to as the Model 1854, the Lefaucheux revolver is a single action, standard military caliber arm produced at his licensed production facilities at Liege, Belgium.

The entire surface of the revolver wears a peppered mottled patina. Serial number “6447” is stamped on the right side of the frame under the cylinder. Revolver measures an overall 12” long with a six-shot unrebated cylinder matched to a 6 3/8” long, round barrel with an octagon breech. Sidearm is a 12mm (.44 caliber) model with a plain cylinder with the six safety cams and the six pin slots. Bore has good rifling and is dark and dusty.

The iron trigger guard fits the frame and exhibits the distinctive middle finger rest.

Revolver’s grips are two-piece varnished black walnut and in good condition with smooth even wear. The right side has a sliver of missing wood. Buttplate has the metal lanyard ring.

Action works but can be sloppy at times.

Cylinder loading gate is intact and functional. Ejection rod is missing.

A unique cavalry sidearm that was used by many during the Civil War.  [ad] [ph:L]
