Remington manufactured more than 150,000 over-under, double-barreled derringers from 1866 until the end of their production in 1935.
This is a .41 rimfire with two 3" barrels. There is an extractor button on the left side, between the barrels. Marked on the top of the barrels in two lines: "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y. / ELLIOT'S PATENT DEC. 12th 1865." This is the Second Model and known as the "Two Line."
The barrels are hinged at the top and released by way of a lever on the right side of the frame. Spur trigger. Strong mechanics. Bores are clean with light rifling. Good plating overall with some light pitting on lower barrel. Walnut grips remain in great shape. Serial numbered 254 on underside of barrel. [jet] [ph:L]
