An interesting flintlock pistol of a common dragoon design used by the British military though out the 18th century. This particular example shares the characteristics of the 1760 light dragoon pistol. The lock is engraved with the letters REA and the flat profile single throated Cock or hammer is engraved with a beaded design within a border. All of the furniture (butt cap, trigger guard and side plate) is of brass. The barrel exhibits both of the English proof marks located at the left side of the breech. All mounted on a walnut stock with a wooden ramrod.

Good solid lock and fizzen action; stock has a 1” crack located above the side plate and a letter H stamped into the stock near the side plate.
