This resin piece is a copy of the monument erected by the veterans of the 20th Maine Volunteer Infantry at Gettysburg. The actual monument is on the southeast side of Little Round Top and marks the center of the line the regiment held during its famous defense of Little Round Top on July 2nd. The monument was dedicated in 1886.
This replica monument stands approximately 5” tall by 3 ¾” across the base. It is complete with all the text and imagery that is found on the original monument. Piece is signed on the bottom by the artist.
These were produced by Gary Casteel who is well known for his talent in producing copies of monuments on the field and his pieces are much sought after. [jet] [ph:m]
