Plaque is an image of Jennie’s Wade home in Gettysburg, PA. Labeled with, “HOUSE IN WHICH JENNIE WADE WAS SHOT,/ GETTYSBURG, PA.” The house is colored making it the focal point of the picture. The oval picture is inlayed with gold gilt. The item was manufactured by Cruver Manufacturing Company of Chicago; purveyors of celluloid novelties in the early to mid-1900s. The item measures 5” long and 3 ½” wide. There is also a metal chain to make the item ornamental. Once affixed to the reverse is a tag that reads “2 JUNE 94.”, which has become separated from the item but remains with it. The date is most likely a sales date not a manufacture date.
This Jennie Wade souvenir is in good condition, and is a nice, vintage Gettysburg collectible. [mk] [ph:L]
