CAMP COLT TANK CORPS SILK HANDKERCHIEF

$125.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 635-509

Here is a seriously cool screen-printed Camp Colt souvenir scarf. It is made of very light cream-colored silk. The edges have been doubled over and sewn in place. Two small crossed flags have been embroidered on the right-hand corner. Overall, this piece measures 11 inches by 10 ¼ inches. A British Mark IV tank is front and center of the scarf with several doughboys seen behind it. A patriotic poem below reads:

Out of the trenches, follow THE TANKS / After the Huns, diminish their ranks, / Democracy’s Sons the first shall be, / To make the World safe for Humanity.

This scarf is in great condition. No moth nips or tears to note. It is clear that this piece was kept folded as the fold marks are still present but more recently has been stored flat for presentation purposes. On the back of the bottom right-hand corner, the initials “E.R” are handwritten in ink.  [cla] [ph:L]
